Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is an American-born British sitar player and music artist. She was the first woman of her generation to receive the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is one of the Indian young sitar star. She is a student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. The first few years of her life were split between London in London and New Delhi. As a teenager the first time she performed in New Delhi took place. After moving to Encinitas, California in 1999, she was awarded the high-school degree. Anouskha is yet to be a mature woman nevertheless, she has an impressive career in singing and recording. She often joins her father during performances, something she's done for several years. The singer released Anourag her first solo album in 1998. The Grammy-nominated Live at Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Alongside performing at many of the biggest venues, she also has an extensive stage presence. Anoushka's career does not only include the world of music. Bapi the love of My Live, a picture-biography that is dedicating to her dad Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. In 2003, she was a part on Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka Shakar's profession will continue to grow and expand. We are looking at seeing lots of new things from her. Anoushka lived a long time between London and Delhi in her early years. After that, she moved to California to finish high school. At the age of 9 she began her studies in music alongside her father. Her debut performance on the Sitar was in her 75th birthday celebration in Delhi in the year following. The father of Anoushka travelled the world with her and she gained many experiences. As she was in her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. The House of Commons Shield was presented an award by the British Parliament as the pre-eminent Asian Arts musician. She is the only female and youngest recipient of the distinction.
